Yannick B. Gélinas is a poet and new media artist. Her inner philosophy to size the moment is the main theme of her work. Passionate by contemporary dance and poetry, she created video and multimedia pieces about it.
  She won a special award at the FFM 1996 (Montreal World Film Festival) with "Extremis". The same year, she directed a documentary about the choreographer Jo Lechay - which won a price in Brazil. In 1997 she created a multimedia installation "Fenêtre sur le Centre-Sud/ Windows on Centre-Sud". In 1999, she realised "Parenthèse/ Parenthesis", a very intimate interactive poetry piece. In 2000, she signed a multimedia essay about Gaelic songs and traditions: "Uamh an Oir/ Cave of Gold". In September 2000 she published "Mordre/ To Bite", an astonishing book-CDrom revealing a screen and paper poetry duo.
Yannick B. Gélinas has a Degree in Communications and a Master Degree in Multimedia from UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal). She worked in Europe as a multimedia director in art and media education. Yannick B. Gélinas was born in 1974 on the South Shore of Montreal. She works now in Montreal as a video director and a new media artist.
